She dreams of becoming a journalist and an author, using her voice to bring attention to stories that are often overlooked or misunderstood. Kristy wants to share the experiences of people like her—those who have survived abuse, displacement, and loss—so their voices can be heard and their truths acknowledged. By telling these stories, she hopes to create understanding, inspire change, and remind others that their experiences matter.

Kristy recently faced an unexpected expense when her car broke down and required repairs. Because her car is her only form of transportation, getting it fixed was necessary so she could continue handling daily responsibilities and getting where she needs to go. After covering the repair costs, Kristy is now struggling to afford groceries for the next couple of weeks.
