An Xbox for Hunter who often has a hard time connecting with others

Hunter, 13 years old, ME | 20 DAYS WAITING

Hunter entered care carrying more than most children ever should. He now lives with his grandmother and siblings in a home filled with love, stability, and support, where he feels safe and cared for. However, adjusting to these changes has been difficult for him and continues to affect his emotional and social development. Hunter is also navigating this stage of life without many peers who truly understand what he has been through. At school, he works hard to keep up, but he sometimes struggles to connect with others, which can impact his confidence. Even so, Hunter keeps trying and shows quiet strength every day, even on the hardest days. With encouragement and support, he has great potential to grow in confidence and thrive, and even small acts of kindness can help remind him that he is seen, valued, and not alone.

Hunter finds it hard to connect with other kids and make friends, which sometimes leaves him feeling alone. Video games are more than just fun for him—they help him relax, connect with others, and feel like he belongs. He does best in places where he feels safe, supported, and included. Right now, Hunter has an older gaming system that makes it hard for him to play online with his friends, where many of their friendships are built. Because of this, he often feels left out. After everything Hunter has been through, these small moments of connection really matter. A newer gaming system would help him play, laugh, and spend time with his peers, building friendships and boosting his confidence in a way every teenager deserves.
