Leland is an active individual who enjoys the outdoors and exploring the woods with his friends. He participates in the wrestling team and has recently started playing baseball. Academically, Leland performs well and achieves the honor roll every marking period. While he loves playing video games, his greatest passion is being outside, regardless of the season or weather—except in extreme cold.

Leland is now living with a family friend because his mom needed help. Before this, he and his sister were staying in a storage unit with their mom and her boyfriend. While they were there, they saw their mom and her boyfriend using drugs a lot, which led to Leland being taken away from his mom. His dad is also having a hard time and doesn’t have a steady job or place to live; he’s living with his ex-girlfriend’s parents and can’t take care of Leland and his sister right now. Leland has outgrown his bike and often hangs out with his friends, who all have bikes. He feels sad because he always has to walk while they ride. Getting a new mountain bike would make Leland very happy, and he could join his friends in playing and having fun, creating good memories during his growing-up years. He can't wait to join in the fun!
