MO DSS Children's Division - St. Francois CountyCalissa is a bright and kind young woman currently living with her grandparents through foster care. She had hoped to establish guardianship with them, but due to delays in the court process, she will likely turn 18 before this can be completed, which may also extend her time in foster care. She enjoys living with her grandparents, but she is often hesitant to ask for things because she worries about being a burden, even though that is not the case. Calissa is a sweet and caring person who tends to be shy and slow to open up to others. She recently got a job at Grant’s Farm and is working hard to save her money and build her independence.
Calissa loves video games and enjoys playing with her friends. Right now, she does not have a gaming system, but she would really like a Nintendo Switch. Having a Switch would allow her to play and stay connected with her friends wherever they are. Calissa is shy and only has a small support system, mainly her grandparents and a few close friends. Gaming is something she enjoys and shares with this group. Right now, she is the only one without a gaming system, which makes it harder for her to join in. Having a Switch would help her feel more included and allow her to play with her friends without needing to rely on visiting other people’s homes.
