Work permit renewal fees for Anderson to continue supporting himself
Anderson, 19 years old, CA
Wish submitted by:
Strength Based Community Change (SBCC)Anderson has faced many changes due to foster care, moving between different homes and schools. Despite the disruptions, he learned to adapt and see his experiences as opportunities for growth. Perseverance is one of his main strengths; when school is interrupted, he seeks help and works hard to catch up. He also shows empathy, understanding the challenges others face because of his own experiences. Anderson enjoys reading adventure stories, drawing, and listening to music that resonates with his life. Physical activities like basketball help him reset when he feels overwhelmed. What makes him special is how he turns his tough experiences into motivation to support and mentor others in similar situations.
After moving from Guatemala, Anderson lived with his dad for two years, navigating a lot of difficult times. Anderson found himself in a group home at just 17, facing tough family challenges with his father until his brother helped him leave the group home. Since then, Anderson has been working hard to create a stable future for himself. Right now, he needs help to renew his work permit, which he can't afford on his own. Keeping his work permit active is crucial for him to work legally and maintain his independence. Renewing it would not only help him secure a job but also allow him to cover his daily living expenses. This support would greatly reduce his financial burden and let him concentrate on building a better life.
