Olivia is currently in CPS custody after concerns arose regarding her behavior, substance use, and possible self-harm. Law enforcement became involved after her grandmother reported concerns while Olivia was living in the home. At the time, her parents were unable to provide appropriate care and supervision, as her biological father was incarcerated and her biological mother was experiencing homelessness, leading to Olivia entering foster care. Despite the challenges she has faced, Olivia has a spunky personality and a bright spirit. She may seem reserved at first, but once she feels comfortable, she becomes very open, talkative, and engaging. Olivia enjoys expressing herself through creative outlets such as painting, journaling, makeup, fashion, and other artistic activities. Journaling, in particular, has become an important coping skill that helps her process emotions and express herself in a healthy way.

Olivia is preparing to start an online GED program and is motivated to continue working toward her education goals. Because she lives in a rural community without reliable transportation, attending in-person classes is not an option for her at this time. Having a laptop would allow Olivia to fully participate in her online classes, complete assignments, attend virtual lessons, and stay on track academically. A laptop would provide Olivia with an important opportunity to continue her education despite the barriers she faces. As she works toward building a stable and successful future, access to reliable technology would give her the tools she needs to stay engaged in school and pursue her goals with confidence.
