Gabriel is a determined and respectful young man who has faced many challenges growing up in foster care. Despite these obstacles, he has remained focused, polite, and motivated to build a better future for himself. He made the courageous decision to change his path by enrolling in a youth challenge program with the U.S. Army, where he will be graduating early due to his hard work and dedication. He hopes to continue his journey by joining the military and building a successful career serving his country. Gabriel also hopes to inspire other foster youth by showing that their past does not define their future and that success is possible through perseverance and discipline.

Gabriel made the decision to change his life by joining the Youth Challenge Program with the U.S. Army, where he is currently working toward earning his GED. As part of the program, participants are required to have running shoes, but Gabriel does not currently have a pair. The program includes daily workouts, hikes, and outdoor labor, so a durable and supportive pair of sneakers is essential for him to fully participate and succeed. Gabriel is doing very well in the program, and having proper footwear would help ensure that something as basic as shoes does not become a barrier to his progress and success.
