Aaliyah entered foster care at a young age with her twin brother after they were abandoned at a hotel. They were later adopted, but unfortunately, things did not work out in their adoptive home. After spending some time with friends, Aaliyah remained a model student in high school but soon faced the possibility of becoming homeless as a senior. With the help of the McKinney-Vento Act, she has found temporary placement in a group home located 20 miles from her school.

Aaliyah has recently moved far from what she knows as home. She is now living away from her best friend and does not have transportation to attend her graduation party. Aaliyah is working hard to balance school, work, and track, but she needs some help getting around. Because of the distance, she has also been missing out on spending time with her friends. She is hoping to be able to see her friend at the graduation party so she can share in this special moment. This would give her the chance to celebrate and be part of an important event she has already missed out on others.
