Tai'lan is a bright and sociable child who enjoys playing video games and participating in sports such as basketball and football. When he was very young, his safety and well-being were compromised due to issues with his mother, which led to the involvement of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). However, he is now back living with his mother and siblings, and the family is adapting well as they work towards complete reunification. Despite the challenges he has faced, Tai'lan remains kind and caring.

Due to recent changes in living situations, Tai’lan, who had been living with a legal guardian for several years, has now moved in with his mother. As a result, he had to change schools. Since this transition occurred late in the school year, Tai’lan, despite being a dedicated and capable student, experienced some challenges academically. Having a reliable laptop would greatly assist him in connecting with tutoring programs and other resources over the summer break, helping him to be as prepared as possible for the new school year.
