Nelly was born into the foster system and was initially placed in a wonderful home. However, she was later removed from that home and placed with family members. Due to issues with her family, Nelly was then returned to her original foster home. Nelly loves all things Disney and is a very happy child.

Nelly faces challenges in expressing her wants, needs, emotions, and feelings in a safe and supportive manner. Since she cannot communicate verbally, daily activities can often become frustrating and overwhelming for her when she is unable to convey what she needs to her family. Access to a communication device would promote her independence, enhance social interactions, and provide her with a meaningful way to engage in everyday life and learning experiences. This communication device features preset buttons that Nelly can select to let those around her know what she needs.
