Josiah is an incredible young man who was put into foster care along with his younger siblings. Due to his age, Josiah was placed in a group home. Even though he misses his siblings, Josiah has not let being in foster care deter him from pursuing his dream of joining the military to become a pilot and learn to fly planes for the Air Force. In addition to his passion for aviation, Josiah also has a talent for drawing and painting and has achieved success in various art contests.

Josiah recently learned that he was selected to play in the summer league for the YMCA men's basketball team. He was initially unsure about making the team because he felt he wasn’t as skilled as some of the other players who tried out. However, he received the exciting news that not only did he make the team, but he also achieved the highest number of 3-pointers among all the candidates. Josiah is thrilled and can't wait to start practicing. He reached out to ask for a new pair of basketball shoes to use during the summer league. Josiah lives in an independent living program, works, and attends school. Helping him with the purchase of the shoes would not only provide him with a significant morale boost but also demonstrate that there are people who support his hopes and aspirations.
