Growing up, she experienced instability, poverty, and the impact of her parents’ addiction. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she endured neglect and unsafe living conditions that led to serious struggles, including an eating disorder. She was placed in emergency housing, then separated from her brother and sent to live with different relatives, where her needs were often overlooked. From there, she cycled through a shelter and a group home, staying quiet and resilient until she graduated high school. Now she carries the lessons of resilience, survival, and perseverance with her while working to build a better future.

Kyra is asking for an Uber Eats gift card to help purchase groceries while living in her campus apartment. She is currently low on funds while waiting to receive her next paycheck and has been struggling to keep food in her apartment over the past several days. Without reliable transportation to the grocery store, having groceries delivered would be the easiest way for her to access food and other necessities. This support would provide immediate relief and help ensure she has meals while she waits to get back on her feet financially.
