Building Resilience Together

Rozi first entered foster care as a newborn due to her parents’ struggles with substance use. She spent much of her childhood in and out of the foster care system and fully entered care at age 11, where she remained until aging out. Despite these challenges, she has built strong resilience, independence, and a determination to create a better life for herself and her daughter. Rozi is caring, strong, and hardworking. She enjoys skincare and beauty, music, and spending quality time with her daughter. She is especially proud of her ability to overcome hardship while still supporting others and staying focused on her future goals. As a single mother without family support, Rozi carries many responsibilities on her own. Her daughter has a neurological condition that requires extra care, adding emotional and financial strain. Although her family originally came to the United States as refugees, most relatives have since returned to their home country, leaving Rozi to manage parenting, school, and finances independently. Despite these challenges, Rozi is a first-generation college student who remains committed to her education and long-term stability. Support during this time would help reduce her stress and financial burden, allowing her to focus on building a secure and hopeful future for herself and her daughter.

Having recently moved, Rozi does not yet have many of the kitchen items needed for everyday use. This assistance would help her obtain basic necessities, reduce financial stress, and support her continued success as she balances parenthood, higher education, and independent living after aging out of the foster care system.
