Dorm room items for 18 y/o Alexa who is starting from scratch

Posted Dec 5, 2016
Alexa came into care with only the clothes on her back and is basically starting from scratch. She is going off to college and would love to do start collecting items for decorating for her dorm room.

Alexa is 24 years old and lives in NC

Alexa is a mature, articulate college student who has struggled financially and emotionally since aging out of foster care in July of last year. Alexa is highly motivated girl. She graduated at age 16 from high school while earning college credits. She did this while being the primary person raising her four siblings. She worries constantly about her four younger siblings who remain in foster care. She had a large hand in raising them and was in many ways the only true “mother figure”, especially for the two youngest. She is attending college, living on her own and works in retail to make ends meet. At work, she loves getting to know to customers and anticipating their needs. She works hard, asks very little from anyone and is very grateful for anything she receives.
