Maya has faced many challenges throughout her childhood. Growing up in a home influenced by drugs and unsafe activities, she took on the responsibility of caring for her five younger siblings from a young age, often stepping into a parent-like role. This environment exposed her to trauma that no child should endure, and she is now receiving the therapeutic support needed to heal. Despite the deeply painful experiences she has gone through, Maya remains brave and resilient. She is working hard to overcome obstacles like difficulty concentrating, emotional ups and downs, and trusting adults. Her strength inspires those around her. Maya lives with her siblings at their grandparents' home, where she continues to shine in school and finds joy in hair and nails.

For the past two years, Maya's grandparents have been doing everything in their power to keep her and her five siblings together. When these children needed a safe place to land, their grandparents opened their door without hesitation. Maya is the oldest, and the youngest is just five years old. She and her siblings have finally begun to feel secure after so much instability. This home has become the first place where Maya and her siblings have been able to stay together, heal together, and simply be children again. But the grandparents are struggling under the weight of caring for a total of seven children while they are working to complete the requirements to be licensed. Until that license is approved, they receive little to no financial assistance, even though they are providing full-time care. Despite their best efforts, they have fallen behind on their mortgage. Without help, they risk losing the home that has become the anchor for these children. This wish is urgent. Supporting Maya, her siblings, and the entire family will keep them safe, keep them together, and give these grandparents the breathing room they need until financial support begins.
