Thaddeus, who is on the autism spectrum, has been living for three years in a small group home for children with developmental disabilities. He was removed from the care of his parents after he attempted to intervene during several domestic violence incidents and was injured. Thaddeus' teachers call him Mr. Sunshine and note that his beaming smile is famous among the staff and students at his school. He loves spending time outside and playing with light-up toys.

As part of his autism spectrum disorder, Thaddeus has preferences for specific sensory input, including rocking, swinging, and especially spinning. His group home staff says he loves to twist and spin on playground swings. Although this is a greatly preferred activity for Thaddeus, he does not have consistent access to the playground and longs for the chance to swing and spin. This specialized spinning chair will allow him to engage in safe sensory activities with supervision at home.
