Damarys is a resilient and compassionate young lady who was placed in foster care. As the oldest of five siblings, she has always carried a tremendous amount of responsibility on her shoulders. Even after experiencing severe hardships and feeling guilty for situations far beyond her control, Damarys remains deeply connected to her family. Although she and her siblings were unable to be placed together, Damarys’ love for them remains her guiding motivation. She worries about them, advocates for them, and dreams of the day they can all reunite. Her caregivers describe her as selfless, protective, and incredibly thoughtful.

Damarys would like to visit her father, who is currently incarcerated. Due to significant transportation barriers, she has been unable to have in-person visits with him for several months. Damarys shares a close bond with her father and misses him deeply. She recently expressed how difficult it was to spend Father’s Day without seeing him—the first time they had been apart for this occasion. Her mother is currently experiencing homelessness and is unable to provide transportation or financial assistance for visits. This transportation assistance will allow Damarys and another guest to visit her father.
