Ja'Nayiah has overcome a lot in her lifetime due to sexual abuse from her parents. She was recently brave enough to tell the truth about her abuse. She and her 5 younger siblings were placed in foster care for the third time in their lives. She was placed in a group home with her sister, and they have been thriving ever since. Ja'Nayiah is looking forward to a fresh start and plans to get involved with theater at her new school.

Ja’Nayiah is preparing to begin high school at a new school, marking another major transition in her life. This will be the sixth time she has changed school districts due to the instability caused by being in and out of foster care. Despite the many challenges she has faced, including experiencing significant trauma, Ja’Nayiah is excited for the opportunity to start fresh and create a positive new chapter. She is looking forward to building new friendships, finding a sense of belonging, and becoming involved in her school community. Ja’Nayiah hopes to join the theater program, where she can explore her creativity, develop her talents, and connect with others who share her interests. To start her off for a successful school year, Ja'Nayiah needs a backpack, and she specifically picked out this black one with white polka dots.
