Malacai enjoys spending time at the park, riding his bike or hoverboard. He enjoys playing basketball outdoors and is enthusiastic about any outdoor activities. Fishing with his family is one of his favorite pastimes. Currently, he lives in a new home and has experienced several different foster homes over the past few years. Although he struggled to adjust, he finally feels happy in his current living situation.

For his birthday this year, Malacai is wishing for hiking essentials—including proper trail shoes and a durable backpack—to support his new passion for exploring the outdoors. Hiking has become a vital, positive outlet and a powerful form of self-care for Malacai, giving him a peaceful space to clear his mind and connect with nature. For a youth in foster care, establishing healthy coping skills and positive routines is incredibly meaningful.
