A personal AAC communication device for King to express himself and connect with family

King, 5 years old, NJ | birthday-icon

Wish submitted by:

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Monmouth County

King is a young boy who has lived with his supportive grandmother since he was two years old. Because King is nonverbal, he sometimes experiences frustration when trying to communicate his thoughts and needs, but he is surrounded by a loving family that advocates for him every step of the way. King loves being read to, playing with his cousins, and spending quality time with his family, bringing warmth and happiness to those around him.

King is nonverbal and relies on an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device to express his thoughts, feelings, and everyday needs. While he has access to a device at school, he does not have one available at home or during the summer months. He is wishing for his very own communication device so he can interact seamlessly across all settings. Having his own dedicated device will support his language development, foster independence, and reduce frustration. This meaningful gift will give King a lasting voice to connect with his family just in time for his fifth birthday.
