He chose this path because navigating the foster care system since age four built his resilience, and he wants to apply his education to directly help clients reach their behavioral goals.
An REI gift card will allow Joachim to purchase durable, professional clothing for his graduate classes and his job as a Behavior Technician. After aging out of foster care, Joachim faced severe hardship and experienced homelessness for three years before rebuilding his life. Today, he is working hard toward his Master’s degree while providing therapy part-time, but after covering essential expenses like gas and groceries, his tight budget leaves no room for wardrobe needs.
