Amerie is a bright and resilient young child who has experienced domestic violence at a very early age. Despite everything she has been through, she continues to grow with courage, curiosity, and a joyful spirit. She loves exploring the world around her, making new friends, and discovering new things through play. With the love and support of her caregivers and service providers, Amerie is making wonderful progress every day. What makes her so special is her determination and the way she continues to smile, learn, and embrace life. She is a sweet, brave little girl with a bright future ahead of her.

Amerie's mother courageously left an abusive relationship after experiencing years of financial abuse and control. As she rebuilds a safe and stable life for her family, every dollar goes toward basic necessities, leaving little room for activities that could support Amerie's healing and development. Amerie's care team believes that swimming lessons would help strengthen her physical development, build confidence, and support her emotional healing after the trauma she has experienced. These lessons can help Amerie learn an important life skill while experiencing the joy, confidence, and sense of accomplishment every child deserves. Swimming would give her a safe place to grow, have fun, and simply enjoy being a kid.
