Kaydin is currently in foster care in Beatrice and attends Beatrice High School. Like many youth who are placed in a new community, she has found it challenging to build friendships and find a peer group after transferring from her original high school. Kaydin is a kind, caring, and compassionate young person who genuinely enjoys helping others. Prior to entering foster care, she experienced mental health challenges that were made worse because she was not consistently receiving her prescribed medication while living with her parents. Since being placed in foster care and receiving appropriate support and medication, Kaydin has shown significant improvement and is doing well. Although her mental health has stabilized, Kaydin continues to work through the effects of the difficulties she experienced before entering foster care. With continued stability, support, and positive relationships, she has demonstrated resilience and is making meaningful progress toward her personal and emotional goals.

Kaydin would greatly benefit from receiving a school activity pass to participate in extracurricular and prosocial activities at her new school. Having this pass will provide valuable opportunities for her to build healthy peer relationships, develop a sense of belonging, and strengthen her connection to the school community. After missing out on group activities during her initial transition, this opportunity will empower Kaydin to engage with peers who encourage positive choices and support her continued personal growth.
