CASA for Kids of South Central TexasAaliyah entered foster care at a young age with her twin brother after they were abandoned at a hotel. They were later adopted, but unfortunately, things did not work out in their adoptive home. After spending some time with friends, Aaliyah remained a model student in high school but soon faced the possibility of becoming homeless as a senior. With the help of the McKinney-Vento Act, she has found temporary placement in a group home located 20 miles from her school.
Aaliyah is preparing to embark on an exciting journey as she attends University, but after being abandoned by her foster parent at 17, she's finding the task daunting. To help her make this transition smoother, purchasing essential dorm items such as bedding, towels, a trash can, toiletries, and other necessities will be invaluable. This thoughtful support will enable Aaliyah to create a comfortable and welcoming space in her dorm room, turning it into a true home as she embraces this new chapter in her life.
