Semaj is a kind, independent young woman who is currently living in a transitional living program as she prepares for the next chapter of her life and ages out of foster care. She has worked hard to develop the skills and confidence she needs to build a successful and independent future. Semaj deeply values her community and enjoys spending time with her church family, where she has found encouragement, connection, and a sense of belonging. She also has a caring heart and often looks for opportunities to mentor and support her peers when she feels her experience or guidance could benefit someone else. Semaj’s compassion, independence, and desire to help others are wonderful examples of the strength she has developed throughout her journey.

Semaj has plans to pursue post-secondary education while continuing to work toward her long-term goal of transitioning into apartment living. An e-scooter would provide her with valuable, affordable transportation as she navigates this next stage of adulthood, giving her a reliable way to get to and from school, work, and social engagements. Having dependable transportation would reduce her reliance on others and give her greater freedom to manage her daily responsibilities. An e-scooter would also help Semaj build confidence as she learns to navigate life more independently. Most importantly, this gift would support Semaj’s goal of creating a stable, self-sufficient future as she transitions out of foster care.
