Royce is in kinship care and is being raised by his grandmother. Although he is deeply loved, he still feels the lasting effects of growing up without consistent parental support. One of the most significant gaps in Royce’s life is the absence of strong male role models in his home. He thrives when he is cared for by male coaches who provide the encouragement, structure, and accountability that he cannot find at home. These mentoring relationships have become essential to his growth and confidence as a young man.

Royce is asking for continued tutoring support to keep up with chemistry as she heads into sophomore year. Chemistry has always felt overwhelming before she even opens the textbook, and with ADHD, unfamiliar material coming at her all at once tends to cause her to shut down before she even tries. Tutoring has changed that. Getting to see the material first, ask questions without embarrassment, and understand what's coming before she's expected to perform has made a real difference, especially since her guardian is supportive but isn't able to teach chemistry directly. With tutoring, she's maintained an A average heading into sophomore year, even while juggling AP coursework and sports, something she couldn't have managed alone given the demands of both. Sophomore year brings harder classes and an even fuller schedule, and continued funding would let her keep the progress and confidence she's worked so hard to build.
