Rudi spent seven years in the foster care system, where she worked hard to overcome the challenges of lacking a support system and dealing with her anger. Despite feeling abandoned by her parents, Rudi discovered strength and determination within herself, learning to care for both herself and her brother. Throughout her hardships, she found comfort in her relationship with her aunt and in taking long walks alone to reflect on her thoughts. Rudi is incredibly proud of earning her place in college and dreams of opening a restaurant while advocating for foster youth.

There's a lot riding on the next few months for Rudi. She's expecting her first baby, and she's doing it alone, having recently left a domestic violence situation. Between the excitement of becoming a mom and the stress of affording even the basics, she's carrying a lot right now. One thing on her list is a breast pump, something she wants to have ready before her baby arrives so she can focus on her new role as a mother instead of worrying about what she still needs to get. Having this one thing already taken care of would give Rudi a little more peace of mind heading into an already overwhelming time.
