Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach CountyMatthew is an extraordinary young man who is currently living in a group home after spending many years in therapeutic and residential settings. Being in the foster care system for nearly seven years has been incredibly challenging for Matthew, yet he continues to maintain a positive attitude and always has a joke to share. Although he was never adopted, as he had hoped after his parents passed away, he is now learning independent-living skills and preparing to age out of the system at the end of the year and transition into extended foster care. He remains hopeful and looks forward to eventually returning to his hometown.
Matthew has always been passionate about collecting action figures, especially from Dragon Ball Z, Star Wars, and various anime series. He previously owned a sizable collection that held special significance for him, but unfortunate circumstances led to many of his figures being lost, stolen, or damaged during recent moves. In the past month alone, Matthew has been situated in three different group homes due to no fault of his own, resulting in significant instability. The loss of his cherished collection has deeply affected him. Now that he is settled in a more stable environment, he is eager to gradually rebuild his action figure collection. One figure that holds particular value for him is a Monkey D. Luffy figure, which was among his favorites and is now missing. Replacing it would mean a lot to Matthew, bringing him joy and a sense of familiarity during this challenging time.
