Emma was left in the care of her grandmother while her mom receives mental health treatment. This abrupt change to Emma’s life has caused housing instability, among other issues. Emma is also adjusting to a new school environment. Through it all, Emma is still a sweet, fun kid.

Emma has outgrown her baby bed and has been sleeping with her grandmother just to get a good night's rest, though it's become a tight, uncomfortable fit for them both. A bed of her own would give Emma the space she needs to rest and grow, while also giving her grandmother much-needed relief by letting her focus limited resources on other essentials like food and housing instead of stretching to cover a new bed.
