Maya is in foster care and still does not fully understand what it means for her. Being with her four older sisters has given her an important sense of comfort and familiarity during what has otherwise been a stressful, unfamiliar time in her young life. Thankfully, Maya is in a wonderful foster home where her caregivers are working patiently and lovingly to help her feel safe, secure, and at ease.

Maya is placed in a loving foster home with her four siblings, but the transition hasn't been easy. The move was abrupt, and the caregivers were unprepared to take on 5 girls all at once. Additionally, Maya lost most of her belongings amidst the transition, and being able to pick out clothes and toys with the support of older sisters and foster parents would help provide security and restore some normalcy to her life.
