Anaya's parents struggle with mental health issues and addiction, which have prevented them from providing effective parenting and keeping her safe. Despite these challenges, Anaya is doing well in school. She is the quarterback for the flag football team and was recently featured on the front page of the local newspaper's sports section. Additionally, she is coaching a second-grade recreational soccer team. Anaya is outgoing and makes friends easily; she is also very confident and kind. After graduation, she plans to attend college, where she will pursue either Sports Science or Nursing.

Anaya is adjusting to a big change: moving from her own room to a dorm, with a bathroom down the hallway instead of steps from her bed. It's a whole new kind of living for her, and she's still finding her footing in a space so different from what she's used to. A Walmart gift card would let her pick out pajamas, shower shoes, and a robe- practical, comfortable items to wear to and from the shared bathroom each day. Getting to choose these pieces herself would mean a lot to Anaya and help her feel a little more settled and at ease as she adjusts to college life.
