Kindred Spirit Behavioral HealthGage has faced more challenges than most at a young age. He entered foster care at just 8 years old due to his mother’s substance use and was unable to receive the care he needed. Over the years, he moved from home to home, eventually being placed in a group home where he spent several years trying to find stability. After aging out of the system at 18 without family support, Gage experienced homelessness. Despite these hardships, he remained determined. He found a sense of safety when a young woman and her family opened their garage to give him a place to stay.Through it all, Gage has shown resilience and motivation. He secured a job and is actively working to finish school by enrolling in online classes.
Gage has recently been offered a travel trailer, providing him with a more stable place to stay and a valuable opportunity for improved housing. However, the trailer has a drawback—previously experiencing a water leak that damaged the mattress inside, which now needs to be replaced. A new mattress would ensure that Gage has a clean and comfortable space to sleep as he transitions into this new living situation, allowing him to focus on maintaining stability without the added burden of replacing the damaged mattress on his own.
