Mike's life is a powerful story of resilience. He was born in Ghana and immigrated to the United States as a child, seeking a better future and help for his broken hip. Unfortunately, he faced abuse from a family member, but caring teachers noticed the signs and stepped in to protect him, ultimately leading to his adoption by a loving elderly couple. Despite many obstacles, including multiple surgeries that interrupted his education and job opportunities, Mike earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from California State University. He is now passionate about mentoring youth and helping others who face challenges, inspired by the support he received. Today, as a father of two, including a child with sickle cell disease, Mike is focused on creating the stable and loving home he wished he had growing up. As he prepares to move into a new apartment, he is committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment for his family. Mike enjoys boxing, fitness, and mentoring young people. As a competitive boxer, he uses boxing to teach discipline, confidence, and perseverance. He also enjoys spending time with his children, volunteering, and supporting youth through coaching and mentorship. Mike's journey has shaped his purpose. From surviving abuse, being adopted at 17, overcoming homelessness, and persevering through multiple surgeries, he has never stopped working toward a better future. Today, he uses those experiences to inspire others and show young people that their circumstances do not define their future. His ability to connect with others through authenticity, compassion, and lived experience is what makes him unique.

Mike is getting ready to move into a new apartment, and he has a heartfelt dream of giving his family the stable home he didn’t have growing up. With the financial challenges he faces, having a new dining set would make a big difference. It would create a warm and inviting space where his kids can feel safe and comfortable. This little bit of support would lighten his financial load, allowing him to focus more on his family and his passion for being a boxing coach and mentor, as he works hard to build the life he’s always wanted for them.
