Nicki is an art student with a powerful story of resilience. Growing up with an abusive, addicted mother and constantly moving between her mother’s abusive relationships, Nicki was forced to take on responsibilities far beyond her years. After an eviction at age 14, she left home and has been on her own ever since. Throughout these challenges, art became her emotional outlet, allowing her to express feelings she could never share with the adults around her. Today, Nicki continues to use art as a therapeutic tool and hopes to pursue a career in the field, telling her story and inspiring others through her work.

Nicki is excited to have her own apartment. A television would make her apartment feel more welcoming and help her feel more comfortable. Also, Nicki could gather with her friends, which would rejuvenate her energy and make her feel less lonely. It would also be a great addition to her life, giving her a way to relax and unwind after a long day of classes.
