Amir is the perfect example of a young man who chooses to use the hardships he has endured to help others. He is a leader of his Middlesex Youth Advisory Board (program set up to give feedback to the state of New Jersey regarding how to improve practices and policies for youth in care). Amir channels much of his past pain into artistic creations such as poems, songs, and spoken word pieces. He spreads messages of love, kindness, unity, advocacy, and respect, and embodies these qualities as well. Amir remains involved in his community and takes every opportunity to help and serve others. Even at just 18 years old, he inspires those around him through his willingness to acknowledge his past, set sights on a brighter future, and take steps in that direction.

Amir is wishing for a gift card that he can use towards purchasing new household and personal items. He is currently in a residential program but will be transitioning out soon. He has 3 job interviews lined up (which they would be crazy not to offer to him) and is taking every step to try to set himself up for success. Amir is the first one to give his last dollar to someone in need and now finds himself in a position where he could use some support. He would greatly appreciate some support as he move towards life on his own for the first time.
