When she was in high school, she was very involved in leadership and sports, and has been involved on her college campus as well. Melissa has overcome a tremendous amount of adversity over the years but still maintains a positive attitude.
As a recent high school graduate, Melissa will be entering her first year as a college student and her first as a Guardian Scholar. It is an amazing accomplishment for a foster youth to be able to attend a university; we would like to provide her with a gift card to Target to help Melissa outfit her dorm, purchase food, and hygienic items. We want to welcome her into her new Guardian Scholars family and help him start the new school year off on the right foot.
