A trip to Walmart for Emily to purchase new shoes for nursing clinicals

Posted Aug 25, 2017
Emily will be on her feet much of the day next semester for her nursing clinical. She needs a new pair of supportive shoes. Emily is on a very tight budget - A gift card to purchase these shoes would help alleviate some of the financial stress.

Emily is 36 years old and lives in PA

Emily is a single mom juggling a tight budget, a job, and a full-time class schedule towards her nursing degree. She is focused and determined never to be homeless again and works hard to make a better life for her and her daughter

"From our Fellow Emily: Dear One Simple Wish: I wanted to write this letter to thank you for the $50 Walmart gift card that was so kindly given to me. I cannot thank you enough for the gift card. The card was used for the purchase of shoes and stockings for my education program.I needed a certain type of shoe for my nursing class and because of you, I was able to purchase shoes. This is a huge help in my life and I appreciate you. It is hard for me right now as a single parent and full time student, so the gift card really took stress from me and allowed me to go to my nursing class with the correct uniform and shoes on. I felt overwhelmed when hearing the good news that my wish was granted by you. Thank you so very much!! "
