Housing Supplies for David to attend the Foster Youth Internship Program in Washington DC

David is a student from Oklahoma who was accepted into CCAI’s 2019 Foster Youth Internship Program in Washington, D.C. For 17 years, the FYI Program has been a highly esteemed, life-changing youth empowerment program for young adults who have spent their formative years in the U.S. foster care system. The program offers Foster Youth Interns the opportunity to intern in a congressional office and become published authors of a federal child welfare policy report. To help make this program an impactful experience for the interns, CCAI provides full service, wrap-around care throughout the internship. We need your help to provide essential dorm housing supplies such as bedding, toiletries, plates, utensils, cooking supplies, and detergent in addition to other miscellaneous living supplies. We so appreciate your support!
David is 28 years old and lives in OK
David has a bachelor’s degree in instrumental music education from Oklahoma City University. While pursuing his degree, David discovered a passion for public service and child welfare advocacy. With personal experience in the foster care and juvenile justice system and a proven dedication to improving the child welfare system, David was appointed to the State Advisory Group for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention by Governor Fallin. He has also joined Casey Family Programs as a member of their 21st Century Child Welfare System Steering Committee and ensured the introduction of a model state legislative package in Oklahoma.
