Sahlina has had a tough life, and at no fault of her own, she is now in a foster home. Sahlina has kept up with her school work and managed to get through this school year. Sahlina would greatly benefit from a week away from her difficult life to play, swim, sing and just be a kid. Her Mother's tragedy is ever-present in her life, attending counseling and grief camp, so a week without the constant reminder of her Mother's death would do a world of good.
Sahlina is 17 years old and lives in CA
Sahlina has seen more in her short life than most people ever see. Two years ago a fire destroyed everything she and her Mom owned. They got out safely but had to start over. They moved in with Sahlina's grandmother and things were looking up. Right before this past Christmas, Sahlina's Mom was killed in a horrible car accident, leaving Sahlina without a home. Sahlina's Grandmother is very involved in Sahlina's day to day life, but Sahlina is currently living in a foster home.
