Jake is such a bright light for coming from such a dark past. He has Autism and is non-verbal but is exceedingly well at expressing his emotions. He is so well behaved and as sweet as can be, always running up to hug staff when they clock in. He is slowly using more and more words since being placed at the shelter with us, like yes, no and bye. We are sadly his twelfth placement facility in the almost 5 years that he has been in the system. Jake loves to play outside, even though we can't get him to keep his shoes on for more than five minutes, and he is all about toy cars!

Jake thinks Shrek is the funniest movie in the whole world! He has watched every single movie besides the very first one and he really wants to watch the beginning! Jake will keel over with belly laughs every time Shrek makes a joke and when Jake is really freaking out he calms right down for the Shrek DVD. We really want to provide his dream come true with this birthday gift!
