Allison is an amazing, intelligent, and resilient teenager. She entered care as a young adolescent due to severe physical abuse and neglect and experienced numerous interrupted placements while in care. Allison hoped to return to her birth mother who suffered from substance abuse and mental health disorders. Unfortunately, Allison was never reunified with her mother and remained in the Division's case and custody. She continued to remain optimistic and focused on her educational and career goals. Throughout her placement interruptions, she took time off from high school but made it a point to re-enroll and pursue obtaining her diploma. Allison has remained a strong advocate for herself and her well being. She is enrolled in school and recently moved into a supportive independent living housing unit. She is focused on graduating and going on to college or trade school. She remains motivated to achieve her goal and overcome her adversity.
