Zion's days do not just consist of running and playing around. He has a lot of anxiety and a sensory processing disorder that makes his life very stressful. Normal every day occurrences over stimulate Zion and he has no way to cope on his own. Zion is seeing a behavioral health specialist who is helping him cope with every day life. His therapist is recommending these sensory toys so his foster parents can help him at home too. Getting the toys off of the ground applies stress to his joints and helps Zion feel where his body is in space, which is something he struggles with. Sensory issues are complex and require different strategies to help each child.
