UC Riverside - Guardian Scholars ProgramRandy is a junior college transfer and has gone through a lot. The Foster care system gave him the opportunity to have a better life. If he would have stayed in the care of his biological parents, he says doesn't know where he would be. From juvenile hall, to foster homes and group homes, his experiences in foster care make him who he is. His foster care experience gave him a second chance to get things right in life. His foster care experience surrounded him with friends, family, and mentors, who want to see him succeed. Foster care was a learning experience that was both good and bad, which allowed Randy to grow and become resilient.
Randy has had some ups and some downs lately, he recently celebrated graduating from college and the birth of his daughter! However in the midst of all of the celebrations, his car broke down. Living in the Inland Empire, CA public transportation is almost nonexistent. With his car being out of commission he his struggling getting to work. Randy would greatly appreciate help with his auto repairs! He wants to make sure his car is safe for his baby girl and that he is able to get back and forth to work!
