The new bed would help build Kevin's self-esteem and give him a sense of normalcy. Kevin has shared that he dislikes having friends over from school because they make fun of his room. Having a bunk bed would enable Kevin to feel similar to what his peers have in their rooms and enable him to engage in more positive peer-to-peer interactions.
Kevin is 11 years old and lives in FL
Kevin is struggling with severe childhood trauma. He struggles at home and in school due to the immense trauma he has witnessed in his young life. Kevin currently lives with his mother and three siblings as his father is incarcerated and has no contact with the family. In spite of this, Kevin is a very bright, outgoing and caring child. Kevin tries so hard to make his family happy.
