A Table and Chairs for Clarissa and her daughter who are eating on the floor

Posted Dec 23, 2019
Clarissa is a single mom who lives with her 6 year old daughter. She works hard to make sure her child has everything she needs, but lives on a very limited income. She is a tireless advocate and also loves to cook. Her and her daughter have been eating on the floor since she moved into her new apartment. She would so appreciate a nice table and chairs so that they can eat some happy, healthy meals together!

Clarissa is 29 years old and lives in NY

Clarissa is a dedicated mother from Brooklyn, NY. She has aged out of foster care and has been working on gaining consistent employment, and trying to gain and learn new skills toward building an independent life. Clarissa lives alone with her 6 year old daughter and is a dedicated parent. She is a fearless advocate for her daughter and for the needs of people in public housing and continues to show resilience in everything she does.

"Thank you so much for purchasing this table and chairs for Clarissa and her daughter! We delivered the table and assisted Clarissa in building it - it is always amazing for our youth to practice these real world independent living skills! She is ecstatic with the table and was thrilled to start her new year off with a table to eat on - her first since leaving the shelter and getting her apartment. Thank you for thinking of our foster youth during the holiday season, and always!"
