Leroy is a former foster youth who experienced significant trauma as a child. His father was murdered in 2010 and his mother abandoned him and his siblings. Leroy suffers from ADHD, Depression and Anxiety but has learned to cope with them. After six years, he graduated from university with his Bachelors in Criminal Justice, and now is in a Masters in Public Affairs program. Leroy would like to continue helping children and youth who experience the system. Some of his accomplishments are having graduated, becoming a Naturalized US Citizen and having been awarded a Certificate of Special Congressional Commendation because of his involvement in the community. He has also assisted in making sure local colleges, universities and related stakeholders work together in bridging the gap and helping foster youth transition into higher education in a smoother way.
