Lucas attends a highly structured learning facility in an autism unit where he receives occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. He also has a daily one-on-one aid. Due to his functioning/communication level, it is difficult for Lucas to focus to learn. A communication/learning device would help Lucas to better communicate his needs to his teachers and also to his foster parents. During this COVID-19 crisis, Lucas' foster mom is struggling to home school all the children, especially without the extra support of one-on-one aids. A tablet to use for communication and learning would be beneficial as well as fun for entertainment purposes and allow him to be a bit more independent as he is learning independent living skills. Once schools are open again, Lucas would be able to take the device with him which would help his teachers and aid communicate with him.
