Nivea is a former foster youth and staunch advocate for change in the foster care system. She has a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and works full time for the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a peer advocate. Nivea was in foster care from birth, entering directly from the hospital. She works hard to ensure others have a better experience in care than she did.

Nivea is expecting her first child and could not be more excited! She has been with her partner for years, graduated from college, and has been working for the city in a great position for several years. She has saved up and is also about to leave public housing behind for a larger apartment in NJ. Nivea is doing so well but as a first time parent needs a lot of items. Please help welcome Nivea's newest addition, and help her get started in this new chapter of her life!
