A folding desk for Amber, a future teacher for our children!

CSULB - Guardian Scholars ProgramAmber Yardley is a 5th year college student that dreams of becoming an Elementary teacher, a High School teacher, and a College Professor! She currently is taking courses related to this dream and has ambitions to apply to for a master’s program, the Multiple Subject Credential Program, as well as earn a Single Subject Credential. Amber knew that she wanted to be a teacher from the time she was in second grade. She works as a Special Education Aide for a school district. Currently she educates high school Algebra and English students. Amber said that it doesn’t feel like work because she loves what she does! Teaching, educating, and mentoring are Amber’s passions!
Amber would be grateful to receive a folding desk to help her work more efficiently at home. She spends hours with computers on a plastic lap desk as she teaches on zoom in the mornings, takes classes in the afternoon, and does homework and readings at night. She often struggles to toggle between her computer, papers, and books on the lap desk. Since she lives in a small space, a compact desk that folds would be a perfect fit!

"Dear Kirwin Family, Thank you so much for blessing me with a new table to work and study on! It was such a struggle for me to focus and balance my computer, papers, cups, and books on the small lap desk I had before. Since receiving the wonderful desk you kindly purchased for me, I have been more productive and motivated to do my best when working on things! Words cannot describe how thankful I am to have my very own desk. It is so spacious, and I can use both of my computers to work! I especially love the second shelf on the table that I can put small things such as cups and pencils on. Most of all, it is beyond perfect that I can close the desk when I am done with it and store it out of my way. As you can see from the images, I am in a small space and the desk is absolutely perfect. Thank you for making my wishes come true. I will be using this desk all throughout college! Sincerely, Amber "
