Groceries for Uyi who has fallen on hard times

Posted Dec 18, 2020
Uyi unexpectedly had to leave the place he was staying. Despite the rigorous and hard-working efforts being done by his agency supports, he is expected to experience extreme housing insecurity over the next few months while he waits to be approved for an apartment. Uyi will need help to take care of himself while he is looking for work, waiting for his housing to come through, and staying positive while not having a permanent home yet. An Instacart gift card will help Uyi obtain groceries and feel himself for a couple or weeks after Christmas. Please help support Uyi!

Uyi is 25 years old and lives in NY

Uyi left foster care around 2014/15, being discharged to family via a kinship placement. Unfortunately, this did not go well and by 2017 Uyi was residing in a homeless shelter. He remained there for about a year before moving to Binghamton to attend college. Uyi is not currently still in school due to his lack of a strong support system, but was linked to our agency in the hopes of locating housing back in NYC where our nonprofit, and others, can better assist him on his path to success.
